  • Louis Bacon is the founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and principal investment manager of Moore Capital Management, LP, a private investment management firm that invests in the global financial markets and private equity markets.
  • Bacon is also founder and Chairman of the Moore Charitable Foundation, Inc. which provides financial support to nonprofit organizations focusing primarily on the conservation and protection of natural resources through advocacy, applied science, technology, and research.
  • Bacon received the 2013 Audubon medal from the National Audubon Society.

Prior to founding Moore Capital, Bacon was a Senior Vice President in charge of Futures at Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc. and previously held positions at Walter N. Frank & Co., a NYSE specialist firm, and at Bankers Trust.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Middlebury College and the Board of Overseers at Columbia Business School. He is also a member of the Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a member of the Board of Directors of the Foreign Policy Association.

A native of North Carolina, Bacon graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in American Literature and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
